Family dinner

The other night we had baked rainbow trout with steamed broccoli for dinner.

While we were sitting at the table, Audrey announced that she had just drawn a picture earlier in the day of a typical family dinner at ou house. Audrey's dinner consisted salmon and broccoli.

You know what they say about great minds . . .

Here we are in clockwise order: Vivian (at top with the curly hair), Audrey (in the kitchen . . . apparently she left the water running), Mommy (bottom of the page), and Daddy (at left).

We love our fairies

Santa brought the girls a Fairy Door for Christmas.

The whole family is having fun with this fairy door, but no one enjoys it more than Audrey. She writes notes to the fairies and they write back to her (on their special tiny fairy typewriter . . . who knew?)

The girls have received pins, jewelry, candy, stickers and even tiny ballet slippers from the fairies.

What I like best is that the fairies that have taken up residence in our home just happen to be neat freaks. Audrey begged them to bring her some pixie dust but they commented that her bedroom was just too messy. She cleaned up her room and Voila! pixie dust appeared on their doorstep this morning!

Everybody wins!

I miss my Dad

Too much has happened since Christmas and I'm not sure I'm ready to write about it here . . . my heart still hurts too much.

My dad passed away on January 2nd. He left us on New Years Eve but remained on life support long enough for all of his children and grandchildren to have time to say goodbye. I was at his side when he passed and I felt so blessed to be there.

I've tried to stay away from sad events on this blog but this is much too large to ignore or cast aside.

He will be . . . . IS . . . . missed very much.

I did a show this weekend. A show that Dad wanted to come see. I'm not sure how I pulled it off, but it ended up being a lovely distraction for awhile. My dear friends put this tribute in the program.

I love you, Dad.
